I love trying new foundations, my current go-to is Benefit Hello Happy but this isn’t completely full coverage and I’m currently on the hunt for a full coverage night out foundation.
I saw thisDior Forever Skin Glow Foundation advertised by Lydia Elise Millen so decided to grab myself a tester from my local Dior counter.
I got shade 0,5N
I used my Clinique Moisture Surge as a primer and applied this Dior foundation with a Beauty Blender. I found it quite stiff to apply even though my Beauty Blender was damp. It oxidised quite quickly and felt too heavy on the skin.
I have always picked luxury or high end foundations over drug store as I’ve convinced myself I’ll break out if I purchase drug store. I know this is down to my skincare more than anything and finding the right combinations. I do find that drug store just isn’t as long wearing as hugh end, however if I save £25 but maybe have to top up my makeup once in the day, I’ll take that as a win!
Here I’m wearing the Rimmel Lasting Radiance foundation in 070 Porcelain. This foundation is much lighter on the skin and still full coverage. I’m wearing this foundation with my Hoola Bronzer and a touch of the Topshop glow pot on my cheeks and I love the natural radiance it gives to my skin.
Dior Forever Skin Glow is £37
Rimmel Lasting Radiance is £10
Based on value alone I’d pick the Rinmel Radiance. Based on quality I would pick the Rimmel Radiance.
I understand that not everyone will have the same experience as me and I would recommend grabbing a tester of the Dior Skinglow, however the texture alone made me feel as though it was more ‘matte wall paint’ than Skin Glow foundation.
Have you tried either or both of these foundations? Are there any others you would like my to review?
