Unicorn Lashes – Honest Review

Hi everyone!

It’s been a while since I’ve done an actual product specific review and I felt like this product needed it’s own post.

I’ve wanted a pair of Unicorn Lashes for months and kept forgetting to purchase them, until I saw there was a sale… I purchased the Forget Me Not lashes and the Eye Charm lash glue. I’m going to start off by saying that I am NO expert in makeup, however I think that an honest review from a none professional gives a more realistic insight.

I very rarely wear lashes, as its a little bit of a chore but I love how they look so the first chance I had (a meal at the ever so glamourus Chiquitos) I popped them on!

The packaging for this brand is great, the lashes are sealed in a plastic case, which is brill for re-use and the unicorn outer packaging looks so pretty. I usually purchase Eylure as they’re always on offer in Boots and Superdrug and the glue is included. These lashes were £11 in the sale, but unfortunately didn’t come with glue.

Luckily I purchased their ‘Eye Charm Glue‘, which claims to be ‘the best eyelash glue ever’… I’ll be the judge of that!

Application was a bit of a hassle. I used tweezers and my fingers to apply the lashes. No matter what I did the outer corner on my left eye was having none of it. I even took all my makeup off on that eye and tried again and still no luck. I then moved onto the next eye, which took me about 10seconds to apply so after a breather (trying not to tear the house down) I attempted the left eye again and it went on fine.

I left the glue to dry on the lashes before application for around a minute, this seemed to be the best amount time to leave it. The eyelash glue itself has a small brush which if I’m honest, makes it a little hard to apply to the lash, it’s very thin and doesn’t pick up the glue enough. The eyelashes themselves are quite wide for an average sized eye, I have quite big eyes and I even found them a little too long on the edges.

Once the lashes were on they looked great. At first I thought the length might of been a bit much but once they’re on they look fluffy and voluminous!

I used my Carli Bybel Deluxe Palette and my Spectrum Sirens Brush Set to create this look. I also used Brow-Wiz by Benefit.

I wore them for around 4 hours and had 5 cocktails during this time, so I thought I’d better do an After image too to show you how they last.

As you can see, if you look head on they look fine but they’re actually coming away slightly, which is due to the glue, it’s just not strong enough.

In conclusion, I would definitely recommend the Unicorn Lashes but not the glue. The applicator is not great and the product itself is not good enough to hold the lashes in place.

Natt xx
