In the run up to my holiday I’ve been doing a ton of shopping, both online and in store, and I’ve had to donate 3 bin bags of clothes to make room for the new ones *cue the worlds smallest violin*. I haven’t limited myself to one store and I’d like to think I’ve branched out and come out of my comfort zone too with a few of the pieces I’ve picked up.
These beautiful white cropped flare trousers are from Missguided, they’re super high waisted, and fit like a glove. Plus they’re soooo comfy and flattering so I don’t feel completely out of my comfort zone, even though I am not really a trousers girl outside of work! When they arrived I tried them on with heels and flats and they look amazing with both, so I’m definitely taking them abroad with me… (2 days!!!!!!!).
Trousers – £22 Missguided
Top – River Island (something similar)
Heels – River Island (something similar from H&M)
While we’re on the subject of trousers, I also picked these bad boys up from Asda George of all places for only £16, they’re a cheesecloth material so they’re super comfy (comfort seems to be a running theme within my wardrobe at the moment) They’re a longer length and not so cropped so they’re really slimming, I would also say size down as these are an elastic waist.
Cami – Asda (similar from Matalan for £6)
Culottes – Asda George £16
Belt – Missguided (similar from New Look for £6)
Flats – Vivienne Westwood (similar style)
More trousers… These wide leg floral pants are from New Look, I think these would be perfect for summer weddings and holidays. I wouldn’t say they’re the comfiest so definitely more for an event rather than ever day wear.
Trousers – New Look £19.99
Heels – See Above
Topshop have some amazing dresses and tops in at the moment. I love anything crochet and white so this bardot number obviously ended up in my wardrobe.
Top – Topshop £24.00
Last week was House of Fraser Brand Event and as always I had to buy something. I used to work at Oasis, and they are one of the only places I can go and love everything in store. The concession in my local House of Fraser is amazing and they always have the best stock in, especially when it comes to dresses. I picked up this beauty, that I literally haven’t stopped wearing since. I’ve paired it here with blue court heels which I think looks beautiful and the perfect wedding guest outfit!
Dress – Oasis £42.00
Heels – New Look (similar style)
While I was in House of Fraser I also picked up this floral midi dress from Warehouse.
Dress – Warehouse £36.00
It’s been so warm these past couple of weeks, which is very unlike the U.K so I’ve had to wear a lot of my beach wear around the house. This made me realise how much I was in need of a revamp and was obviously another excuse to purchase more holiday clothes. I picked up this low v playsuit in New Look. I love this pattern so much, I was really hoping they’d have a matching beach bag and towel but I’m still waiting on that.
Playsuit – New Look £14.99
Yes, this is another tropical playsuit, but its a different colour and the shorts have frills… so its ok. I’ve been wearing this around the house while its been warm and I love it. I went to Radio 1’s Big Weekend a couple of weekends ago and sooo many people we’re wearing this. It’s great for festivals and looks ace dressed down with converse and a or for the beach with sandals. The v neck is quite low so I would recommend going down a size if you’re not about that plunge life.
Playsuit – Primark £8 (something similar)
This next playsuit has to be my favourite price from everything I’ve bought. Not only because it look me bloody ages to find it, but I’m just in love with the style and pattern. The bandeau style is perfect to slip on and off on holiday, I’m definitely taking this one to the Aqua park with me! I picked this up from Asos after waiting weeks for it to come back into stock in my size.
Playsuit – Missguided at Asos £30
This swimsuit comes in so many colours on Asos website and is one of their staple pieces. I picked this colour purely because 1) I love pink but 2) this going to lookace with a tan! If you’re like me and carry a nice little bit f back book around with you, this swimsut is perfect, the gathered waistband hides it all and pulls you in!
Swimsuit – Asos £20
This year I purchased all new bikinis and decided to go with patterned tops and plain bottoms so I can mix and match. The tropical and gingham tops are both from primark. The shell bikini top and matching bottoms are from AliExpress. The pink bottoms are Monki at Asos and the white peplum style bottoms are Missguided.
Primark tropical and gingham tops (around £8 each)
Mermaid Shell bikini – AliExpress £8.59 (what a bargain!)
Pink bottoms – Monki at Asos £8
White peplum bottoms – Missguided £10
Lastly is this stunning ASOS skirt, I originally purchased this for a night out, but thought it might be a bit muc, but this will look amazing on holiday. I love the pattern so much, it would make an amazing wallpaper design!
Skirt – ASOS £38
When I actually look at what I’ve bought, I’ve spent quite a fair bit and feel so sorry for my bank account, buuuuut it was over a period of a few weeks so it’s not all bad… right?
What have you picked up for the summer?
Are you going on any holidays?
